18 for 18: ten days left

I turn 19 in ten days.

Let's see how that 18-for-18 list is doing, shall we?

By April 4th, 2010:
ONE save up for and purchase a Canon Rebel
TWO sell more items on Etsy
THREE turn all my fabric/stash into gold
FOUR get in shape and get healthy
pointFIVE experiment with fashion!

1.
I totally fail at saving up money. I really should know this by now. Needless to say, I have not purchased a Canon Rebel, nor have I come close to being able to afford one. Alas. One day.

2.
I'm happy to report that my Etsy shop is coming along. I'm pretty satisfied with how it's going.

3.
Most of my fabric stash is at home. So it has not turned into gold. But my fabric stash here at school is....increasing. whaaa?!

4.
Working out is tough. When I get too busy, exercise is the first thing that goes. Bleh.

point5.
Yay! This goal is a no-fail fake goal! Whoohoo!

Thanks for putting up with my not-so-exciting life! :)

working out

I turn 19 in about two months. According to my countdown widget, I'll be nineteen in 55 days and 7 hours. WHOO HOO.

I figured it was timely to do another 18-for-18 list update, this time on goal FOUR since I haven't talked much about that at all.

FOUR get in shape and get healthy

The free access to the many fitness centers on campus is awesome, even if it comes with a price tag of fifty G's a year (oops did I say it was free access?...curious). One is right in my building and it's bright and lime green and cobalt blue which makes working out that much better.

On the other hand, between classes, homework, my i-need-a-paycheck job, having fun (which is really what college is all about, right?) and the whole etsy/blog/interweb life I lead on the side, working out regularly is not easy to do.

But I've been trying! I've found that the most important thing by far is getting plenty of sleep every night.

Question of the day: What do you do to feel healthy? Is it diet? Exercise? Sleep? Nothing?

18 for 18 update

I'm slightly changing up my list from this:

By April 4th, 2010:
ONE save up for and purchase a Canon Rebel
TWO sell an item on Etsy
THREE turn all my fabric/stash into gold
FOUR get in shape and get healthy
pointFIVE experiment with fashion!

 to this:

TWO sell more items on Etsy
THREE turn all my fabric/stash into gold
FOUR get in shape and get healthy
pointFIVE experiment with fashion!

Starting today, and regularly over the next week or so, I'll be listing some destash items on my etsy.

#3: turn all my fabric/stash into gold

Over the years, I've accumulated A LOT of stuff.
And when I say A LOT, I mean A LOT:

See what I mean?

Well. Good thing I'm home for over a month before second semester starts.

I've barely put a dent into it so far; here's what I've done:

This scarf is literally a piece of jersey fabric, but I mean, they sell that kind of stuff in stores for at least fifteen bucks nowadays. (ridiculous!)

I don't know if I'd ever wear it, but this scarf is SO soft and plushy.

For now, I'm on the hunt for tutorials and projects and cool diy ideas to get RID of all this stuff. Got any suggestions?

one down already!

A few days ago, I made this list:

By April 4th, 2010:
ONE save up for and purchase a Canon Rebel
TWO sell an item on Etsy
THREE turn all my fabric/stash into gold
FOUR get in shape and get healthy
pointFIVE experiment with fashion!

And now, it looks like this:

TWO sell an item on Etsy
THREE turn all my fabric/stash into gold
FOUR get in shape and get healthy
pointFIVE experiment with fashion!

It was a great Christmas present, selling my first item on Etsy!

And the other stuff I got:

An envelope of caaaaa$h-monayyy from my grandparents :)

Up!

Veronica Mars Season 3: My collection is now complete! (If you've never watched this show, DO IT NOW.)

Snow/rain boots for college...perfect for the rain and slush of Providence, RI.

Made by my little sister!

And on Christmas day, my family and I went to a Christmas party at a friend's house, and my sister and I spent the night playing with ADORABLE ASIAN KIDS. A six-year-old boy drew this for me:

So cute!

And just to show you my red sequin beret! I love this. Only five bucks at Forever 21.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas too!

I'll be nineteen in April

Inspired by a ton of other blogs, like Drawings in Motion, and Elise Joy, I've decided to make a list of things to accomplish before my next birthday. I turn 19 on April 4th, which is less than four months away.

Since I only have a quarter of a year left, I'll do a quarter of a year's worth. Instead of 18 for 18, my list will have 4.5 :)

By April 4th, 2010:
ONE save up for and purchase a Canon Rebel
TWO sell an item on Etsy
THREE turn all my fabric/stash into gold
FOUR get in shape and get healthy
pointFIVE experiment with fashion!

And within that list lies the five new focus points for this blog, at least until my next list (19 for nineteen, anyone?).
PS: Can anyone recommend a specific model of the Canon Rebel? One that's around $500? Thanks in advance :]
