2009: looking back

2009 was hands down the best year of my life.

It was the year I medaled at Science Olympiad States. (whoo nerds!)

It was the year I got into college. (ruth!)

It was the year I turned 18. (finally legal!)

It was the year I danced and danced to celebrate being 18. (and dance and dance and dance)

It was the year I went to Montreal to celebrate being 18. (lower drinking age!...jk we kept it classy)

It was the year I celebrated Senior Skip Day. (and made lots of s'mores)

It was the year I went to Senior Gala. (chocolate fountains galore!)

It was the year I graduated high school. (bittersweet moments)

It was the year I went on a cruise with friends. (best senior trip ever)

It was the year I went parasailing. (in Mexico!)

It was the year I started college. (yeah 2013!)

It was the year I made new friends at college. (future bridesmaids)

2010 iz gon' be even bettah!

#3: turn all my fabric/stash into gold

Over the years, I've accumulated A LOT of stuff.
And when I say A LOT, I mean A LOT:

See what I mean?

Well. Good thing I'm home for over a month before second semester starts.

I've barely put a dent into it so far; here's what I've done:

This scarf is literally a piece of jersey fabric, but I mean, they sell that kind of stuff in stores for at least fifteen bucks nowadays. (ridiculous!)

I don't know if I'd ever wear it, but this scarf is SO soft and plushy.

For now, I'm on the hunt for tutorials and projects and cool diy ideas to get RID of all this stuff. Got any suggestions?

you smell just like christmas

I have been waiting my entire life (since June) to see this movie.
It came out in theaters, but only in big cities like NY and LA, so I didn't get to see it.
And THEN, suddenly, it was #1 in my Netflix Queue.

I watched it the second I got it in the mail yesterday.
And I watched again today.
And I think I might just watch it again tomorrow.

God, why can't I just MARRY Michael Cera already?!

And I'm a big fan of Charlyne Yi in this. She pretty much rocks (my socks).

This movie is easily in my top five. And I think now I have about...eight movies in my top five? oopsy.

The trailer:

The song: ("Magic Perfume")

has anyone else seen it? what'd ya think?

one down already!

A few days ago, I made this list:

By April 4th, 2010:
ONE save up for and purchase a Canon Rebel
TWO sell an item on Etsy
THREE turn all my fabric/stash into gold
FOUR get in shape and get healthy
pointFIVE experiment with fashion!

And now, it looks like this:

By April 4th, 2010:
ONE save up for and purchase a Canon Rebel
TWO sell an item on Etsy
THREE turn all my fabric/stash into gold
FOUR get in shape and get healthy
pointFIVE experiment with fashion!

It was a great Christmas present, selling my first item on Etsy!

And the other stuff I got:

An envelope of caaaaa$h-monayyy from my grandparents :)

Up!

Veronica Mars Season 3: My collection is now complete! (If you've never watched this show, DO IT NOW.)

Snow/rain boots for college...perfect for the rain and slush of Providence, RI.

Made by my little sister!

And on Christmas day, my family and I went to a Christmas party at a friend's house, and my sister and I spent the night playing with ADORABLE ASIAN KIDS. A six-year-old boy drew this for me:

So cute!

And just to show you my red sequin beret! I love this. Only five bucks at Forever 21.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas too!

canon rebel

I've decided this is the camera to get:

The Canon Rebel XSi
Yes? No? Whatever?
It's pricey but worth it. I won't be able to afford it for a couple months but I am looking forward to that day when I can lay down my Visa and get it! :)

And now, an outfit.

Sweater dress/tunic: Urban Outfitters
Tights: H&M (i think)

Scarf: gift

I'll be nineteen in April

Inspired by a ton of other blogs, like Drawings in Motion, and Elise Joy, I've decided to make a list of things to accomplish before my next birthday. I turn 19 on April 4th, which is less than four months away.

Since I only have a quarter of a year left, I'll do a quarter of a year's worth. Instead of 18 for 18, my list will have 4.5 :)

By April 4th, 2010:
ONE save up for and purchase a Canon Rebel
TWO sell an item on Etsy
THREE turn all my fabric/stash into gold
FOUR get in shape and get healthy
pointFIVE experiment with fashion!

And within that list lies the five new focus points for this blog, at least until my next list (19 for nineteen, anyone?).
PS: Can anyone recommend a specific model of the Canon Rebel? One that's around $500? Thanks in advance :]

get ready for a full head-to-toe makeover

Hopefully you know by now that I'm obsessed with leopard print. Clearly.

This post is all about unloading some pictures taken over the past couple months.

The next post you'll see is going to be a completely made-over blog. Just you wait :)

I'm gonna get back into the swing of things and post more regularly, now that I'm home for the holidays and finals are OVER! =D

I paint my toenails black as a secret form of rebellion. It makes me feel all sorts of badass.

I match my physics notes to my outfit. It's not THAT weird, right?

Macro image of my massive key-chain-wallet apparatus.

I bought that wallet/pouch at Craftland in Providence, RI. It's handmade by MissAllison. I absolutely LOVE it.

And finally, my super fuzzy doggy, Chuckie! My mom refuses to cut his hair because it's winter now, so he looks like a big, curly, dog-shaped pom-pom.

Happy holidays!

must watch clueless over and over and over

This is insane.

WHY DID BRITTANY MURPHY HAVE TO DIE?!
I heard it on the radio today and then googled it.....and even after hearing it and reading about it, I still can't believe it. Now I just feel the need to watch Clueless over and over and over again.

RIP
