boring outfit, braided hair

A friend did my hair during art class today: (sorry, it was very impossible to take a picture of it myself)

And yup, I have reddish tinted hair - I dyed it over the summer, and you can barely see it except in the light, which I like.

Pants, F21.
Cardigan, ex-possession of mom.
Tank, Charlotte Russe.
Shoes, Salvation Army.

i'm bo yo.

Have you seen this guy? I think I'm in love with him.

Be warned: Immature high school boy humor (ie: major pervertedness), but still hilarious.

balancing act

Today was a good day. I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving, only because I don't have to go to school, but I hate that I have to clean the house because we're expecting guests. Blegh. I wanted to just chill at home without any company, but whatevs.

Skirt, diy, used to be a sweater from Salvation Army.
Cami, F21.
Cardigan, stolen from mom.
Tights, Charlotte Russe.

these are LONG overdue

My friends and I had a crazy awesome and extremely fun photoshoot a few weeks ago, and oh my god it was absolutely the most fun ever. If you've never thrown on crazy outfits and taken ANTM-style pictures and then laughed at them afterwards, YOU ARE MISSING OUT. I probably lost ten pounds from just laughing so hard.

Now be warned, there are LOTS of pics here.

my take on the motorcycle jacket.

I can neither afford nor pull off leather. So this is my take on a motorcycle jacket:
The fabric was a tablecloth I found at Salvation Army. It's super soft! The zipper was bought off Etsy and it's amazing, and I have three more and I can't wait to use them!

Jacket, made by me (with the help of this).
Pants, F21.
Shoes, Payless.
Tank, F21.

PS: Even if I can't pull off leather, I am determined to wear it anyway! (I just need to find some!)
PPS: I'm buying leather studs to DIY with too, as many many many MANY other bloggers are.
PPPS: I officially don't care about what I can and cannot perceivably (?) pull off. I'm gonna wear what I want and I'm gonna like it. :]

bleh.

I had to go to our school district's board meeting tonight to be honored for this award that makes me feel snooty and pretentious and elitist.

The thing itself was awful, but it was cool because: a) all of the other people honored for the same thing are my friends, and most of them close friends, b) I met this teacher that I never had, who read my livejournal randomly and had this whole conversation about it.

I keep a livejournal that is meant to be read by my friends. Back in 8th and 9th grade it was all the rage, and we used to all post a million times a day. Now, the few of us that still write it only update every so often, and only when we're feeling emo/angsty/stressed/weird.

I wrote about how high school is ending soon and I absolutely can't enjoy myself in the last months. Even though we won't be graduating until June, and there's still next summer before we all go our separate ways, it makes me incredibly sad and I can't deal with leaving everyone I love, and the town I grew up in and have grown to love. The thought makes me cry every time.

Anyway, sorry to be so emo and rant-y! Here's what I wore to said ceremony:

Dress, made by me.
Cardigan, used to be mom's.
Shoes, Payless.
Belt, Thrifted (SA)

oh my god SHOES.

I have too many pairs of shoes.

Before:
Planks of wood. (thanks dad for breakin' out the saw!)

Shoeboxes, hot glue, Tennis balls cut in half: (thanks to my Practically-A-Tennis-Pro friend!)
Paint:
:]

My room is perpetually a disaster. I've been trying to clean it all weekend, and here's a couple in-process pictures. (I promise it's much better now! ...but still a minor disaster)

Maybe it's hard to believe, but the mess was FAR WORSE before I started tidying up!

amazing

I kinda sorta really want these.

Wanna give me $55?

GO SEE ROLE MODELS TODAY

Some of my friends and I saw a midnight showing of Role Models (imdb it here) last night, and oh my god it is the funniest movie ever. HILARIOUS. In inappropz ways, but still. GO SEE IT. You WILL laugh your ass off.

A beautiful 65 degrees today (though rainy), and all of a sudden weather in the THIRTIES in like, three days. RIDIC.

Time to break out the serious winter gear. (EARMUFFS <333 )

badass boots

Funny story about these boots.

I went to the bank last Friday to deposit a check, and my bank puts the actual money into my account in installments of $100 per business day, so I had to wait a couple days for the money to be spendable, much to my dismay. Anyway, I checked my account online on Sunday evening, and it said I had lotsa money, so I was like, SWEETNESS and I jetted over to the nearby shoe store. Well. I found these awesome boots, and brought them up to the register only to have my debit card ring up with only $3 on it, instead of the thirty or so I needed. BOO YOU INACCURATE ONLINE BANKING. It was super embarassing! But the ladies who worked there were lovely and put my boots on hold for me to come back and buy them for real the next day, and that is what I did.
I have massive calves, so boots NEVER fit. I had to do some minor adjustments on these babies (see bottom right photo). I LOVE MY SEAM RIPPER <3

Scooch on closer dear, and I will nibble your ear

Dress, thrifted (Salv. Army) and shortened.

parisian cowgirl?

This girl at school said I looked like a cowboy today. Now, if you ask me, I don't see cowboy at all. I mean, SHE was the one wearing cowboy boots!

[my face....oh dear]

Tights, Rockport via Marshall's.
Dress, H&M.
Boots, Salvation Army.
Scarf, China/mom's.
Jacket, Marshall's.

The weather is really getting drearier and drearier. Today it was absolutely freezing both outdoors and inside (thanks, school's inconsistent heating system!), and lemme tell ya, these tights don't provide any warmth. The sky is totally white, and there are no leaves left on the trees. Guys. I hate to say it, but it's officially winter. Blegh.
